Just under 2,500 attended the 2008 Taste of Huntington Beach at the Huntington Beach Sport Complex. On Sunday, April 26, the Sports Complex inside Huntington Central Park again plays host to the 2009 Taste of Huntington Beach, a popular event that has grown form hundreds of people to thousands. Offering a unique sampling of the area’s finest restaurant cuisine prepared by local chefs, and paired with California premium wines and brews, there are expected to be over 40 restaurants and catering companies serving up their prized dishes.
Shades Restaurant at the Waterfront Hilton placed high in the competition last year with the husband/wife team of Jeff Littlefield serving a Hilton-inspired appetizer, and his wife, Wonyee Tom making the Best Dessert for her TomGirl Baking Company.
Huntington Beach Restaurant Association puts this event together under the direction of Ron McLin of Longboard Pub, with the charitable causes receiving thousands of dollars. The Children’s Wing of the Huntington Beach Library and Project Self Sufficiency have been several recipients. Restaurants, wineries and breweries who generously participate in the Taste of Huntington Beach demonstrate their commitment to our quality of life in Huntington Beach, and as members of the Huntington Beach Restaurant Association (HBRA) they receive extra benefit of promotion and listing on the web site the HBRA produces.
